In Feb. 2024, I decided to make ME and my heath a priority. On a routine visit to my doctor, she prescribed me phentermine, and that’s when I said ENOUGH! a journey back to health and more
I wasn’t 100% sure I needed a program like this… I knew a lot about health and nutrition and had successfully gotten to a good weight and physique in the past. I was pretty sure I had the tools and knowledge to do it again. But, as menopause hit, I just couldn’t get and keep the weight off. I was strength-training 5 days a week and just couldn’t figure out where I was going wrong. I felt stuck and unhappy, so I made the leap to get some help. Working with Shane and ultimately with Amber as my personal coach, I figured it all out and more. I lost 33 pounds over 6 months and changed my body composition. Amber helped me add more overall movement to my daily routine, gave me a healthy and nutritious calorie deficit (but satisfying) meal plan and relayed tons of ideas for small improvements that led to success and better overall health. In a world where information is coming at you from all angles, it’s hard to decipher good info from bad info and simplify things enough to create a successful and doable set of practices and routines. Amber helped me do just that. As with any type of significant personal development, it’s not one big thing, but incorporating lots of small improvements over time (and making them stick) that leads to big changes. Having someone to stay accountable to and provide guidance on all those small things was what made the difference for me. Having that sounding board was key.
Ultimately, not only did I get back to my healthiest weight, but so many other unexpected improvements happened as by-products. Amber encouraged me to walk daily and she also provided some great podcasts to help my journey. This created space for me to listen to other podcasts on my daily walks, which gave me a new source of enjoyment, PLUS I learned things that helped both my finances and allowed me to dig more into women’s health issues and research post-menopause. It’s true that you don’t know what you don’t know. A whole new world of information was opened up for me. I will be forever grateful to Shane and Amber for helping me get back to my healthiest self and setting me up to tackle aging with fitness and grace. Before finding Shane Smith PT, I had literally tried everything to lose weight, with no success. I was depressed and frustrated.
I had been following Shane Smith PT for while and one day I decided to give it a try. I was on the verge of asking my doctor for weight loss drugs, but decided to give one last thing a try.
This is by far the best, most amazing program ever! I feel so much better, have so much more energy, and....I'm losing weight! I've lost 37.5 inches and almost 25 pounds since starting.
I was given a personalized diet plan, amazing recipes and I am not starving, I'm actually eating more than I was before the "diet". This was the best decision I have EVER made in self care! I am 48 years old, premenopausal, and found myself at the highest weight I have ever held with a decreasing confidence level.
